RSS is an abbreviation of Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summery and contains text in XML format. An RSS reader automatically obtains the latest articles from pages to which you subscribe. The service is free.
Web browsers such as Internet Explorer 7.0, Opera and Firefox have built-in support for RSS. If you use one of these web browsers, you do not need a special programme to read RSS.
