The Anti-Discrimination Act states that it is illegal to discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, heritage, skin colour, language, religion and belief system.
The Anti-Discrimination Act applies to all areas of society with the exception of private matters.
Religious and belief-based communities are exempt from the prohibition on discrimination on the basis of religion and belief if this is important for carrying out the community’s religious or belief-based objectives.
