Complaints to the Ombud
The Equality and Anti-Discrimination Ombud makes a decision as to whether you have been discriminated against in accordance with the law. It is easy to complain to the Ombud.
How do you complain?
The complaint should be made in writing.
If you would prefer to make your complaint in spoken form, you can come to the Ombud’s office at 13 Mariboes Street in Oslo. We will assist you in writing down the complaint. Please call us to possibly make an appointment to speak to us. We can arrange for the services of an interpreter if you require them.
What should a complaint contain?
If you would like to make a complaint, it is advisable that you:
- Write a brief account of what happened.
- Explain why you feel that you have been discriminated against on the basis of gender, ethnic background, skin colour, religion, sexual orientation, age, ability to function and so on.
- Enclose any documents you consider important.
- Provide the name and address of the party about whom you are complaining.
